Cooking Without Electricity Competition

Are you prepared for anything? Living with natural disasters and emergencies is the new normal and having a plan in place can make all the difference when an emergency hits. The Katungul Bush Fire Recovery team are challenging you to create your own 30 sec - 1 minute video featuring a no electricity recipe. Winners will take part in a cook-off at our NAIDOC Week celebrations and feature on Katungul's social media. 

To enter please read the full terms & conditions below and email your finished video to comms@katungul.org.au with the subject line "Cooking without electricity" along with your name, age, address and a contact number.

Competition opens Friday April 1, 2022 and ends at 11.59pm on Sunday May 1, 2022. Winners will be notified by phone in early May.

Full Terms and Conditions of Entry
  • Competition starts at 12.00am April 1, 2022, and ends at 11.59pm on May 1, 2022.
  • Winners will be contacted by phone during the 1st week of May.
  • First place winner will receive a double portable stove, esky, picnic set, BBQ utensil set, pan and a $100 Woolworths gift card.
  • Second place winner will receive a single portable stove, soft esky, picnic set, BBQ utensil set, pan and a $50 Woolworths gift card.
  •  Prizes, vouchers, or any other related prizes are not exchangeable for cash or other forms of credit and no refunds will be issued for the full value of the prize. 
  • The submitted video must not exceed 20 MB and should not exceed longer than 1 minute 30 seconds maximum.
  • By entering this competition you consent to the sharing of your submission across social media and on www.katungul.com.au. 
  • Submitting your entry means you have read and agree with the terms & conditions as listed here.
  • Date to be advised for cook-off during NAIDOC Week

All participants must:

  • be supervised if under the age of 16 at time of video.
  • be wearing appropriate and safe clothing for the duration of video.
  • enter competition at own risk. Katungul is not liable for any resulting injuries that occur during the making of a video or related activities.
  • feature a recipe that does not use electricity. 
  • agree to take part in a cook-off at a Katungul NAIDOC Week celebration in Batemans Bay if they win.
